Note about the white paper cranes: Kathy, a friend of my wife, said folding a white crane is bad luck because it symbolizes death. I don't consider myself fully superstitious, but out of respect for her culture (and to possibly hedge my bets), I decided to write a little note on all the white cranes I fold.
