Scattering light over paper cranes on desk.
Note about the white paper cranes: Kathy, a friend of my wife, said folding a white crane is bad luck because it symbolizes death. I don't consider myself fully superstitious, but out of respect for her culture (and to possibly hedge my bets), I decided to write a little note on all the white cranes I fold. These three have the words "no death" and the date.
Yikes, too late for me! I've folded probably 75 white cranes thus far. Are you also numbering your cranes? I've written a tiny number on each of mine. Don't know why. By the way, I like your "theme" of making them out of different materials each day. Kind of a chronicle of your daily travels.
ReplyDeleteyour cranes are looking great, the photos look amazing as well! i'm so glad you decided to do this! i visit this page every day - it gives me something to look forward to!
ReplyDeletebtw, i think we've known each other long enough to say that we're friends as well :)
Jeanne: I am not numbering the cranes because after each folding session I recycle the paper. I'm glad you like my "themes" so far... although I am sure along the way, they won't be as staged. I will be keeping with this even when I travel so there will be some big challenges coming up.
ReplyDeleteKat: Thanks (friend!) for checking back and for giving me a hands on tutorial on folding!
